ADA Accessibility

Brunswick Link is committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act by making sure transit services are provided to individuals with disabilities. All Brunswick Link buses are accessible and can accommodate two (2) people using wheelchairs. Brunswick Link buses are equipped with ramps or lifts to make boarding and exiting the bus easy for everyone.

Wheelchairs & Mobility Devices

Riders may use wheelchairs, canes, walkers and other mobility devices on Brunswick Link buses. All individuals that travel in a wheelchair are required to use the vehicle’s securement system to secure the wheelchair. All riders, whether sitting in a bus seat or in a wheelchair, are required by law to use the shoulder and lap belt.

The Brunswick Link driver may recommend to a rider using a wheelchair that the individual transfer to a seat. Riders using three (3) wheeled scooters are strongly encouraged to transfer out of their scooter into the seat of the vehicle whenever possible. Scooters cannot always be adequately secured and may present a significant safety hazard to the occupant, the driver, and other riders.

The Brunswick Link drivers will assist people with the use of the securement system, ramps, and lifts. Drivers will also provide minimal assistance, such as extending an arm for support or stabilizing a mobility device, to permit a rider to transfer in and out of a device to a seat.

Service Animals

Service animals may travel on Brunswick Link vehicles to provide assistance to people with disabilities. The service animal is the responsibility of the rider and must be under control at all times. Brunswick Link reserves the right to refuse to transport a service animal that poses a direct threat to the health and safety of others.

Reasonable Modification

Brunswick Link will consider requests for reasonable modifications to policies, practices or procedures to ensure our service is accessible to individuals with disabilities.

ADA Complementary Paratransit

Brunswick Link is required under the Americans with Disabilities Act to provide a comparable transportation service for people with disabilities that are unable to independently ride the fixed route bus, get on or off a fixed route bus, or get to or from a fixed route bus stop.

Brunswick Link ADA Paratransit is a curb-to-curb service that will pick-up and drop-off at locations that are within a 3/4 mile radius of the fixed route. Please contact the Brunswick Link office at 207-721-9600 for an application to establish eligibility for this service.

If a rider is eligible under the established guidelines, the ADA Complementary Paratransit fare is currently free per one-way trip.

ADA Complementary Paratransit Eligibility

Riders using Brunswick Link ADA Paratransit must be certified. Eligibility is not based on a diagnosis or type of disability, but on an individual’s functional abilities to use the fixed route service. An application for certification can be obtained at the Brunswick Link office, located at Brunswick Station Visitor Center, 16 Station Avenue, Brunswick, by clicking on the ADA Complementary Paratransit application below, or by calling 207-721-9600.
